Welcome to the fifteenth edition of Toronto IRL - where we find the best IRL business + tech events in Toronto, and curate them, so you don’t have to go searching.

Changes To This Newsletter
1. Newsletter will be monthly rather than bi-weekly
2. I will be the only writer and editor of this newsletter
3. Newsletter will be rebranded to “TorontoIRL Events by RI.Events”
4. Newsletter will also be published as a LinkedIn Newsletter for convenience.
5. Curation - The main criteria to be included in the newsletter would be if I would vouch for the quality of the event. This usually means I know the organizer, or I have attended the event myself.

Time & Place: Wednesday January 17th, 6pm-9pm @ 105 George St
Notes: Combination of speaker panel + networking + after party. Attracts a very broad audience, so good for expanding beyond your usual network. Speakers may or may not be relevant to you, but production quality is always top notch.

Fuckup Nights Toronto Vol XLVII hosted by Marsha Druker
Time & Place: Thursday January 18th, 630pm-10pm @ Stackt Market
Notes: Speaker panel + networking, where presenters get vulnerable and share a personal career story. Fun venue. Venue turns into a bar after!

XRPL x Aceocial // Web3 Party Hosted by Acecocial
Time & Place: Thursday January 18th 7pm - 11pm
Notes: Great for young founders, seed stage startups, VCs and entrepreneurs.

Notes: Cocktail bar format, brings together a lot of early stage founders.

Fractional C'Suite and Agency Owners Dinner Hosted by Ryan Wong
Time & Place: Tuesday January 23 6pm-10pm @ Dundas/Bathurst
Notes: Last event brought out 30+ agency owners and service based business owners. Good for referring clients. Ticket price is worth it as its an actual sit down dinner.

Time & Place: Thursday, January 25th 6pm-9pm @ Dzo Viet Eatery
Notes: Attracts more bootstrapped business owners, usually 30-45 range

Notes: Must be actively building a project in web3, preferably on Ethereum. Each attendee ticket is sponsored by my company so attendee criteria is strict. Limited to 12 attendees.

Notes: Must be a performance marketing professional in charge of growth for clients. Preference for agency/solopreneur/fractional CMO, but also welcoming a small number of vendors and brands. Limited to 12 attendees.

What’s Next With RI.Events?
I am going all-in on the private dinner party format. The goal will be to host 24 private dinners in 2024, with 12max attendees each. That’s about two per week. I like this format because it’s minimal logistics, focuses on deep conversations, and forces more curation since the group size is so small. For interest in collaborating, DM me, I have slots for Q2.
