ToIRL July 2024
My top 8 event picks of July 2024

Welcome to the twenty-first edition of Toronto IRL - where we find the best IRL business + tech events in Toronto, and curate them, so you don’t have to go searching.
Events (Sorted by Date)
I’ve curated my top 12 event picks below.
👨 = I’m attending. ⭐ = I’m the host
July 10 👨 - I recently got into chess, so want to go play with some new friends! Come join me, Derek, Simran, Kris, and Alex for some games!
July 16 👨 - If you are a BDR, RevOps professional, or outbound professional, Clay.com invites you out! Clay is back for a second event focused on teaching how to use Clay! Jani & Roshan are hosting this one, and I’ll be there in the audience.
July 16 - Headline VC (Sophia Samutin) along with Canadian Fintech Newsletter (Tal Schartz) are hosting a meetup for fintech startups.
July 17 - Marsha Druker’s signature monthly event!
July 17 - Forum Ventures back with another B2B SaaS founders event
July 22 ⭐ - Hosting a dinner for the legendary Alli Rizacos, who has generated over $1M from LinkedIn. Exclusively for coaches or those in corporate who want to make the jump. Already 50% full.
July 31 - Aniket Patel from Extreme Venture Partners is back with another awesome car meetup focused on the investment community.
I really love events that mix hobby + career profile because the chance of making friends is really high when you have a personal interest and career interest in common with someone. (It’s why I do so many gaming + startup folks events)
So I really support this event format and vouch for it!
July 25 - My friend Mohamed Quraishi is the CEO of Instachew, a consumer tech pet company sold in PetSmart, Walmart, Chewey, etc. He’s hosting an investor presentation event. If you’re in ecommerce, great opportunity to network with others in the space.
❤️ My Fav LinkedIn Post of the Month
Jax Lieu hits a cigar and has a July 4th explosion behind him!!!

👨 Ryan’s Corner - What Is He Up To?
I made a Collision 💩 talk post and it went viral
Building a conference strategy is not easy. A Head of Growth at large SaaS company recently asked me “Ryan, should I sponsor a SaaStr booth?”
I answered…

What are your thoughts on sponsoring booths? Anyone who has sponsored one before I'd love to ask you some questions and get your input as I write a blog post. Might turn this into another viral conference 💩 post
Job Search
I wasn’t immediately searching but some people reached out to see if interviewing for a full-time role made more sense than just consulting them on events. With that being said, if you know an early stage, VC-backed B2B SaaS company that I might be a fit for, feel free to share the slide below. I’m happy to take an exploratory call.
